How much of architecture is art?

However art and architecture do actually go hand in hand because you think about it the truth is that architecture requires as much of aesthetics and designing sense as any piece of art would. The same way that a piece of art would require a lot of time to plan the whole thing out and then execute it to make the art appear to be visibly pleasurable;

Careers therefore in art and architecture require equal amounts of creativity and a lot of thought to come up with the best results. There are so many fields of designing and art that have opened up, most of which utilize people’s artistic talents to sell their businesses that art and architecture has begun to do the same things. However one aspect of a career in architecture that would differ greatly from the professional career of an artist is that the architect would also have to involve engineering in his or her designs to a large extent; the architect’s career therefore is to marry art with engineering to give an end result of something masterfully engineered and which also looks great.

The usual route to take if you wish to take up such a job in the art and architecture industry is to go in for a Bachelor of Arts degree in architecture so that you will have the qualifications that you need to acquire a license in any state of the United States to practice architecture. You can even further up that degree with a Masters or related professional degree course to become an expert in the field and of course after that you job opportunities in the architecture field will be limitless.

So the debate about how much art is there in architecture can only be ended by saying that a huge part of architecture is really about art and getting the look right and the design perfect. In fact in such a career in architecture you will have the perfect dose of art and the perfect dose of applied sciences and architectural theories as well so that you can come up with a design for a building that looks great and would also last a long time structurally. This is the area of expertise that an architect would have to specialize in.
